Ken Oberg


Ken Oberg served as club President in 1993. He has run the "Pick the Finish" contest for over a decade. Ken started at the University of Michigan in 1950 and finished in 1957. His time a the U of M was interrupted by 2 years in the U S Army stationed In Straubing Germany. Ken and his wife Lory have a daughter, Kathy, and a 4 year old grandson, Hagen. He is past President of the Sepulveda Mens Golf Club and current President of the Sepulveda Senior Golf Club. He is a member of the PLGA Foundation which sponsors junior golf programs and give scholarships to needy relatives of PLGA members.

Ken was born in Chicago. His family of 4 boys and one girl moved around the country. He attended high school in Grand Rapids, Mich about the time Gerald Ford got elected to Congress. He started at the University of Michigan in 1950 and finished in 1957. His time a the U of M was interrupted by 2 years in the U S Army stationed In Straubing Germany. Ken came to Los Angeles, where he met his wife Lory, in 1959. Lory and Ken have a daughter, Kathy, and a 4 year old grandson, Hagen. Besides golfing several days per week, Ken enjoys taking Hagen to the Zoo, the tar pits, or other local attractions.

Ken worked for Allstate Insurance for 37 years before retiring. He is past President of the Sepulveda Mens Golf Club and current President of the Sepulveda Senior Golf Club. He is a member of the PLGA Foundation which sponsors junior golf programs and give scholarships to needy relatives of PLGA members.
