President's Letter:

Happy New Year Big Ten Club members and friends!  I hope that 2013 starts off in the most amazing way and continues throughout the year.

I do need to send a special shout out to my Northwestern Wildcats for their win in the Gator Bowl.  The 64-year drought is now behind us and we are on to great things.  Go Cats!

My brother, the Maryland graduate, is already talking smack… and they do not even enter the conference until 2014.  It should be a fun ride.

Please check our site regularly as we are planning some great events for 2013, and this is the best place to get the most updated information.

I also wanted to send a big thanks to the Tournament of Roses for a fabulous parade and Rose Bowl game… well… it would have been better if Wiscy had won, but what can you do.  This is one classy organization and they treat us so well.

Finally, a congrats to Kathy Schloessman, Aubrey Walton and the LASEC on their inaugural Rose Bowl Game Golf Classic.  It was a fantastic day, despite the rain, and meeting Archie Griffin and Dick Butkus were highlights for me.  I saw a lot of Big Ten folks representing… and while I did not get to see him play, apparently our very own Derek burned up the course… I mean literally.  Luckily the rain kept the fames down.  (I am kidding, of course… golf course.)

Okay, I am stopping now!

So once again, Happy New Year.  On behalf of all of the officers and board members we look forward to seeing you out at many our events.

Go Big Ten!

Queens Luncheon With Mac 2012 008.jpg
The exquisite Valley Hunt Club was the locale of another fun Queen’s Luncheon where many Tournament and Big Ten Club members attended and had their chance to mingle with the Queen's Court.  Our very own Bucky, Derek Hildebrandt, emceed the event and even coordinated a call-in from Wisconsin AD and Rose Bowl Coach Barry Alvarez! The Queen and her Court enjoyed the festivities and were able to share with us some of their fondest Rose Bowl memories and Court experiences.

Plenty of members of the Big 10 Club were on hand at the Grandaddy of them All on New Year's Day as we sold out our ticket allotment again. Unfortunately
Barry Alvarez's return to the sideline wasn't enough to give the Badgers another Rose Bowl win as Stanford defeated Wisconsin, 20-14.

Be sure to sign up early as next year we should again have access to the Rose Bowl AND the BCS National Championship Game tickets!

Lights, Camera Cure - The Hollywood Dance-A-Thon - January, 27, 2013 (2:00-8:00 pm)
The Penn State Los Angeles Alumni (PSULA) are holding our annual charity benefit to fight children's cancer, and we invite you to be part of this fun event.

 - No dancing skills are required, just a desire to help children battling cancer.

 - It’s similar to the cancer walks, but instead of walking, you’ll be moving your feet to the beat, raising money from family and friends for your efforts.

As a unique challenge to our Big 10 friends:

PSULA will donate 20% of all proceeds raised by registered Big 10 Dancers to a charity selected by the school that raises the most money

 - WHAT IT IS - a 6-hour dance party at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood with live entertainment (bands, musical artists, DJ), celebrities & VIP’s on the Red Carpet, a silent auction of one of a kind items, and more.
