Lights Camera Cure: The Hollywood Dance Marathon is a 6-hour dance party/charity event at the historic Avalon Theater in the heart of Hollywood. The event features live entertainment (bands, musicians, DJ, etc.) performing for supporters who have signed up to dance and raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research and treatment. Of course, the Hollywood locale is complete with a Red Carpet, celebrities & VIPs, a silent auction and more. The event is hosted by the Penn State Los Angeles Alumni Chapter (PSULA) and Lights Camera Cure, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization.

In its first two years, the event has donated over $100,000 to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. This year, Lights Camera Cure is also partnering with Children's Hospital Los Angeles, a member of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, to make this the first bicoastal dance marathon fundraiser.

No dance skills are required! Just a desire to help kids with cancer. SIGN UP TO DANCE TODAY! Big Ten Club members can get $25 off of VIP tickets with the code BTCVIP, and $10 off general admission tickets with the code BTCGCA.

LA Food Bank Community Service

Saturday, April 12
8:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
1734 East 41st St.
Los Angeles, CA

We have fun.  We do good.  We'd love you to volunteer with us Saturday morning, April 12th, for our Club's annual community service project at the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank.  Please RSVP by 4/2.

Our goal is to have 50 Big Ten friends to volunteer. The LA Regional Food Bank is a non-profit organization that solicits, stores and distributes donated food and grocery projects to charitable agencies throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.

As we've done in past years, we'll sort, clean and repackage donated items for a morning under the direction of the Food Bank staff and then, if there's interest, we'll head off to lunch at a local restaurant. This is always a rewarding event to participate in, it's free, and you will receive good karma for another year.

Please note: the minimum age to volunteer is 14.

  • Make a positive difference for our Los Angeles community
  • It's not horrible...some even claim it to be fun
  • Meet other good looking and smart Big Ten alumni
  • Advance the good name of the Big Ten Club of Southern California

Co-Sponsored by the LA Badgers and the Northwestern University Club of Los Angeles.
