    Derek Hildebrandt
  • Born in 1971, Staten Island, NY
  • Raised in Waunakee, WI…a Madison suburb
  • Graduated from Waunakee High School in 1989 lettering in Basketball and Golf and was the class speaker
  • Graduated from University of Wisconsin in 1993 with a double major in Economics and Psychology
  • Entertained Badger fans from 1991-1993 as UW’s mascot Bucky Badger
  • Completed graduate level Professional Program in Film and Television Producing at UCLA in 1998
  • Began professional career in the infomercial world working with Amazing Discoveries led by Mike Levey, involved in over 30 infomercials with revenues of over $600 million dollars
  • Former Producer and Vice President of Production and Marketing for 3Oh!5 Creative, Inc., an entertainment advertising and marketing company, producing movie trailers and DVDs for the studios
  • Currently President of Hilltop Entertainment - a media, advertising, film development and production company
  • Serves on the Board of the Producers Guild of America’s New Media Council and Chairs the Mobile & Employment Committees
  • Member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences
  • Lifetime member and current Board Member of the Big Ten Club of Southern California
  • President of University of Wisconsin – Los Angeles Alumni Board
  • Founder and President of the Greater Bucky Open, Inc., a fundraiser golf outing held each year in Wisconsin raising money for the UW Children’s Hospital and Bucky Badger student mascots. www.greaterbuckyopen.com
  • Enjoys movies, sports, beer/brats/cheese, and clings to a 14 handicap in golf

    Ellen Buchanan
  • Born in Manhattan, NY
  • Raised in the City but spent six weeks each summer in Killarney Co Kerry Ireland with family.
  • Graduated from Stuyvesant High School lettering in Track and receiving a gold medal in the NYC Math Fair.
  • A member of the Girl Scout Program from Brownies through Senior Scouts, Ms. Buchanan received her first class award from President Ford in 1976 in a special bi-centennial celebration at The World Trade Center.
  • A Marching Band Member in the percussion section.
  • Ellen was a Resident Advisor and then Director at West Quadrangle at UM
  • Graduated from University of Michigan with a major in Economics.
  • Began professional career in Telecommunications working with Applied Voice Technologies, Brooktrout Technologies and Toshiba Information Systems. Currently Western Regional Manager for NEC’s Voice Processing group.
  • Member of The American Association of University Women
  • Past President (2 years) of University of Michigan Alumni Club during her tenure the club achieved The Outstanding club Award from Ann Arbor.
  • Lifetime member and current Board Member of the Big Ten Club of Southern California
  • Enjoys cooking, traveling, sports (especially Wolverine teams).

    Joan McLane
  • Born in Scranton, PA,
  • Raised in Chinchilla, PA,
  • Graduated from Abington Heights High School lettering in Cross Country and Track & Field, and was voted most talkative by her senior class,
  • Graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1994 with a B.S. in Administration of Justice,
  • Graduated in 2000 from Kean University with a Master's in Public Administration (MPA) degree,
  • Began professional career at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and stayed until moving to California in 1999,
  • Currently the Chief Administrative Officer for the Biological Chemistry Department in the School of Medicine and the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
  • Current Board Member of the Big Ten Club of Southern California,
  • Lifetime member of the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Association, Past President (3 years) of the Orange County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, during her tenure the Chapter received numerous national awards. Leader of the Alumni Admissions Committee for Orange and Riverside Counties.
  • Awarded the 2004 Recent Alumna of the Year by Penn State,
  • Awarded the 2004-2005 Academic & Professional Women of UCI Pacesetters Award,
  • UCI systemwide representative and Treasurer to the Academic Business Officers Group (ABOG) of the University of California,
  • Member of the American Society for Public Administration and the local Los Angeles Chapter,
  • Enjoys sports, travel and all social activities.

    James A. Jacobs, NU
  • Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI
  • Graduated from Nicolet High School (Glendale) and particpated in varsity football, wrestling, and track
  • Spent two years at St. Norbert College (De Pere, WI) and then transferred to Northwestern University
  • Majored in English, minored in Physical Education in the School of Education
  • Taught and coached at Cedarburg High School (WI) for five years
  • Received Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Wisconson (Madison)
  • Worked in college admissions for five years - two at Lake Forest College (IL) and three at Princeton University (NJ)
  • Have spent the majority of my career in alumni relations - Director of Regional Affairs at Princeton, Director of Clubs at the University of Chicago (an original member of the Big Ten), Assosciate Director at Claremont McKenna College (CA) and now, since 2001, Director of Alumni Relations at Occidental College
  • Member of the Big Ten Club Board since 2003
  • Community Service Chair andBoard member of the Northwestern University Club of Los Angeles (since 2002)
  • Sunday School sub at La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church
  • Avid bicyclist (both road and mountain) and Green Bay Packers fan (the greatest team ever)
